Introduction
Hello! I am Neil Archivald Leoning, My friends call me Neil, Best, Archivald, Archie, Leoning, Alden, etc. Well, you can call me any name you like as long as it sounds pleasant to the ears and far from obscenity and abuse.
I am a Filipino staying at Manila , half Ilocano and half Ilonggo. But to tell you the truth, I don’t know how to speak Ilocano or Ilonggo. On the other hand, I know Cebuano a little since I stayed at Davao for more than 2 years. Sometimes I am mistaken of Chinese blood perhaps because of my skin complexion.
I am a college graduate engaged in Computer Science minor in Information Technology.
I am currently working at The Design People Inc. as a HTML/Flash developer — 2 levels down from what I can really do based on my course. Although I am a programmer, I like doing designs and making animations which I consider a very advantageous bonus.
Obviously, I love blogging as you can see. I would rather write an essay than do a speech. But I would watch the movie than read a book.
I am also the eldest of 4 and currently the “Breadwinner” of our home.
Stuffs About ME
I love my computer. Though I don’t have enough resources to pamper it, I can assure you that my computer works better than what it looks like. I can spend many hours on a computer tinkering with whatever catches my attention. I like my computer running smoothly so I have a habit of regularly maintaining files especially that I am not the only one using it.
I love programming. As I have mentioned above, I really love programming. It started when I was given my first computer by my father on my birthday. I don’t exactly remember when that was. Anyway, when I got the computer I was so amazed at what it does. Back then I was still using the old 386 computers. It was those that used the very big floppy discs which was more than 5 inches in diameter. Since then I was curious and interested in how to make programs.
I love creative designs. Although I am very manly, I do appreciate beautiful works of art. I love sketchy designs. Bright colors will really catch my eyes. Whatever the art may be, I am sure to be looking at it.
I love gaming. I used to be addicted to games back at high school. I’d even skip classes just to play. But that was long overdue. I had learned my lesson that games are just meant to entertain, not something to waste precious time with.
I love web designing. Ever since I was exposed to the internet, I was creating personal web sites just to feel that I have something that I can call my own for others to see. This site is actually the product of a lot of experience — very different from its predecessors.
I love to eat. This is the only thing I have trouble avoiding. I will eat anything as long as it appeals to my taste. If you can see me personally, it is very evident.
I love to cook. I learned how to cook during my grade school days. It was because of my liking towards foods that lead me to cooking. I can cook a wide variety of dishes, mostly of Filipino specialty.
I love biking. I am a member of a community organization which promotes biking as a regular form of exercise. I am in fact the secretary. We have regular trips during summer and very often at rainy days.
I also happen to love motorcycling. I currently have a SYM Magic 110rr (red/black) which I always use to go to work
I love chess. I am very good at playing chess and I never get bored playing it. Win or lose, I enjoy every moment of playing as long as my opponent never quits.
I love listening to music. I find music soothing to the soul. I realized that the music we listen to depends with the mood we are at, the influence of environment, and everyday experience. I love RNB, soul, love, and alternative music.
I love watching discovery channel. Some may find discovery channel to boring, but hey, I really enjoy watching documentaries and inventions of many sort. I love watching Orange County Choppers, Animal Documentaries, Myth Busters, and many more.
I love the clash of bright and dark colors. I love the beauty of both worlds of color. Sometimes I like colorful images, sometimes I prefer darker ones. But most of the time, I want to mix the contrasting two.
I love to stare at beautiful women. It does not mean that I am a womanizer. But when I see a beauty worth appreciating, I tend to glance and be mesmerized at the site of God’s gift.
I love to travel. I love going places. If I were given a chance, I want to travel the world and take pictures of every interesting place I can find.
I love true friends. You can never buy true friends no matter what amount you offer. They are really hard to find that is why I love my friends who are always there when I need them.
More of Me
I know how to give respect. Here in the Philippines , respect is one of the important values that we need to learn by heart. We are conservative people that the slightest disrespect will lead to total deprivation of trust to one another. It is still a case to case basis.
I am not that friendly. I can be a snob sometimes. I don’t approach people and directly tell them that we should be friends. I just wait for the right time to come. Eventually we will be friends as I tell myself.
I can be scary. Some people find me scary or intimidating, whichever applies to the situation. I find this true especially when I ask people about our first meeting.
I hate backstabbers. How much I love true friends is equally opposite of how I treat backstabbers. There is nothing more lowly than being a backstabber. It just shows how cowardly a person can be.
I hate lies. Lies can be good or bad. But a lie is still a lie. Whatever!
I am aware that the world is full of stupidity. And in fact it really is. There are so many things, ideology, customs that I really find stupid. I guess it can’t be helped.
I can be too noisy some times. There are many times that I cannot stop talking. And that comes together with a very loud voice.
I stand for my rights. I can assert myself very well. I will definitely make a stand so long as I know I am right.
Sometimes I tend to be silent. Like everybody else, there comes a time that I want to just shut up and look absently at nothing. This is the side of me that some people find hard to understand.
