Well, I was struck by a sudden tought… What do you really call TIKOY in english? I have tried to search for an exact term but onyl found words like chinese, new year, kung hei fat choi and such that relates directly to TIKOY. Now if someone would just be kind enough to share some info then I would surely be enlightened.
Anyway, whats the story behind TIKOY? There aren’t any written on the net that I could find. Maybe there was a time that the land of China was in great peril. And then a man invented TIKOY and save the land of CHINA – the end. Haha short story ha!

this is your traditional TIKOY. This one is brown and we have an albino version which is just white.
Tikoy is made with glutinous rice flour, wheat starch, water and sugar and it is the kind of sugar used that determines whether the tikoy is light or dark. Well, these days, there are a lot of other varieties aside from light and dark tikoy since it now comes in so many flavors—ube, pandan, melon

a fish shape variety
Gee I wonder what will they do next? a yinyang Tikoy?
For my chinese friends reading this… I want tikoy and I am ready to accept all your deliveries. haha
laters!
