Well, I really don’t know the specific details but according to a thread that I have stumbled upon, Edu Manzano mentioned that there is a proposal that private downloads will be monitored and possible that people may be sued (meaning they’ll get a lawsuit / jailed) for it.
Geez! talk about spying, privacy and all that stuffs! I guess that even if this one is true, they will have a hard time implementing it since law implementation in the PHILIPPINES is already close to impossible.
Anyway, why would he say something like that if he hasn’t solved other piracy problems yet? DVDs, VCDs, CDs – does that ring a bell? Besides, who can control the flow of information on the internet? As if we are so sophisticated to catch someone who is apparently using something illegally?
They always, say “free the user, jail the pusher” when it comes to drugs. Now I tell you to jail the pirate, and free the downloader!haha
If it were not for that piracy and stuff then we would not have IT specialists coming from ASIA. Just imagine who will used your poor old Windows? Then how about those songs that we hear from TV, how can we appreciate them if it were not for them downloads?
You see, it has its own PROS and CONS. But be realistic! You cannot control such phenomenon as the INTERNET. Besides, peering into personal privacy is illegal. So beat it!
It may sound that I am against it… yeah! I am!
