After several days of being blocked from Google searches, TheMousePotato is finally worthy once again to be indexed by Google. It is really a sad thing that happened to me seeing my daily hits plunge down to half of what it used to be.

What happened is my fault. So I made a request for reconsideration using my account on https://www.google.com/webmasters.

Here is what happened:

Because my Photo Gallery was constantly receiving blank Google ads from adsense, I made a hidden paragraph absolutely positioned above my page. My purpose was to have something for Google Adsense crawler to match adsense content. Since my Gallery is about photography, I placed an excerpt from “Wiki” about DSLR cameras and linked back to the original content. The only problem is that I didn’t know that I was already violating the rules especially the ones about placing hidden text and links.

You can read more about hidden links on this page.

So for those of you people out there reading this post, you better remove those hidden text and links now if you want to keep your page indexed by Google. It is really a pain in the a**ss having a “Google-banned” site because based on what happened to me, most of my visits comes from those who used Google Search.

Here is the whole webmasters guideline to see what other “do’s and don’ts” Google has set.

Right now, I just want to say thank you for those people at Google Quality Assurance Team for giving this site another chance. Won’t happen again I promise!

Hehe

Ciao!!!
