Guide: Advanced Classes (Skills and Class Trees)
30.April.2008
Advanced Classes (Level 30 and 40)
by Level Up! Gameplay Specialists
edited by GM Vyrien
Starting from the basic classes of Warrior, Ranger, Mystic (Cora and Bellato only), and Specialist, other classes will be made available upon reaching level 30 (first job change) and level 40 (second job change).
Changing classes will grant you access to unique skills, called Class Skills, as well as a PT and stat increase.
Each basic class has a Class Tree which dictates which advanced classes are available to it. For example, let us take a look at the Accretian Ranger Class Tree:
[B] Accretian Ranger >> [A30] Gunner OR [A30] Scout
[A30] Gunner >> [A40] Annihilator OR [A40] Desolator
[A30] Scout >> [A40] Infiltrator OR [A40] Desolator
As shown above, we start out at the basic Ranger class. Upon reaching level 30, we can now branch out to two advanced classes: the Gunner and the Scout.
If we choose to be a Gunner at level 30, when we get to level 40, the next classes that will be available to us will be the Annihilator and the Desolator. A Ranger Gunner can never be an Infiltrator.
BE WARNED: Upon reaching level 30, it is possible to choose classes that do not belong to your Class Tree. This is called Cross-Classing.
Cross-Classing prevents you from using Class Skills, but in exchange, you gain the natural advantages of that new class. This includes the use of Expert and Elite skills and spells. For example, a Corite Warrior, cross-classing to a Summoner at level 30, will be able to use summons and Expert and Elite spells, but will not be able to use any Class Skills.
Advanced Cross-Classing Techniques will be discussed further in another guide.
