Bikers Association Of Gagalangin (BAOG) Goes to Nayong Filipino at Clark Field, Pampanga

By The Mouse Potato | April 20, 2008

Yesterday, the Bikers Association of Gagalangin (BAOG) went to visit the Nayong Filipino located at Clark Field Pampanga.

First stop was at McDonalds at Dau, Pampanga where we also met a Xado customer. I think the man’s name was Ronald (not so sure).

After having finished the deal, we moved on ahead to Nayong Filipino which we had already passed by when we stopped at McDonald’s Dau so we made a u-turn to reach the Entrance to Subic.

I was able to go to Subic once, it was during a field trip back at College days. I remember that it was a trip to one of the forest trails at a Ifugao community, obviously, because we had an Ifugao guide. We went by Bus back then. So I wasn’t able to fully observe Subic being asleep inside the bus. Man, it was like a very very long ride for me.

But going to Subic on a motorcycle was a really different story. The ride was fairly fast because it will only take us about 2 hours to reach Nayong Filipino coming from Manila. And being on an Underbone, I was able to see that Subic was really a huge place. It has vast fields, remote buildings, and a very quiet community. I said to myself that I wouldn’t want to live in Subic if I were a very social person. But on the other hand, I prefer to have quiet moments most of the time, with a pc in front of me. Besides, if I were in some kind of emergency who will I call for help? a neighbor who is kilometers away? what if my phone line’s dead? Is this how people in the US live their lives?

On the very bright part, Subic area is filled with trees which is something to live for. I always wanted to live in a place where there are lots of trees, not in the jungle, but something close to Subic. I really enjoy smelling fresh air like that of when I first came to Baguio city. I salute Subic’s management for a very clean and healthy community.

    Moving on…

When we arrived there, the place was really quiet. I thought maybe people aren’t visiting the place anymore. I saw some cars but thought that they were maybe owned by some of the caretakers there. But don’t get me wrong, some people do came before we left the place. It was a field trip me thinks…

What to expect at Nayong Filipino? I have not Googled any information about it yet… But according to what I saw, Nayong Filipino as the name says tries to replicate the best of the Filipino culture. Inside you will see many structures which mostly you will see in the Philippines such as the aunthentic Ifugao houses, a replica of the Barasoain Church, Spanish houses, The Rice Terraces and many more which you need to see for yourselves.

When you get to Nayong Filipino you are likely to expect an educational tour of what are the most important things that marks the Philippines unique of its culture. That is why most of the visitors you might encounter at the place are students, tourists and some other educational groups.

Just a reminder, please do not try to destroy some of the replicas while you try to make impressive pictures of you and your friends, try to be wacky but careful at the same time. There are no people watching you while you roam around the place which means that the people or caretakers trusts the visitors to take no foolish actions as this place was built on respect also. There are also no entrance fee which is another reason why you should NOT leave garbage around but I think a tour guide you will have to pay.

    That’s all…

    Ciao!
