Battling Sleepiness At Work And At School

Almost everyone I know tells their own stories of how sleepy or groggy they get when at work or at school specially at around lunch time or on the holy hour which is around 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

When at work, this often occurs when there are meetings (e.g. you helplessly fall asleep because of the boring presentation) and at your work desk but however sleepy you get you never have the guts to sleep because it is in-fact shameful to be caught sleeping on the job or sleeping while someone is talking. This problem might cause you your job and will surely regret it. Reminds me when I first started on Araneta, I was so sleepy on sitting down all day that I couldn’t keep my head still for a second so I keep slapping my face like crazy.

During classes on school, we tend to be very sleepy especially when our teacher is boring or the subject is boring or you are just simply bored with no apparent reason. And when the teacher caughts you, you are scolded in front of the class. This happened to me several times and I really hated it.

With all this problem of sleepiness at hand, I recommend two solutions.

First is something that will not only help you in your sleeping problems but will help improve your memory as well, help you concentrate and will strenghten your immune system. The solution is completely free, even for people who have no health insurance. It also has no side effects. Finally, most people consider the treatment highly enjoyable. Would you try it? This solution is simply called sleeping. With an extra 60 - 90 minutes of sleeping aside from the regular 8 hours recommended, it will help you attain the benefits I have mentioned. This is a proven fact which I have read from several articles and which I tested myself.

Did you know that lack of sleep accumulates which is called a “sleep debt” which could be harmful?

People who get less than 8 hours sleep per night show pronounced cognitive and physiological deficits, including memory impairments, a reduced ability to make decisions, and dramatic lapses in attention. As sleep deprivation continues over time, these deficits only grow worse. Consistently failing to get enough sleep is the biological equivalent of consistently spending more money than you make. Napping can help reduce a sleep debts but not as efficient as sleeping regularly.

The second solution is called “power-napping”. We do this everytime when we are sleepy while not at our house. Yes yes yes…the wonders of a power nap. I’ve learned the fine art of elbows on the desk..head in hands with palms sort of covering the eyes on the side, like blinders, and a piece of paper work on the desk. Works like a charm. See? now you know what it is. It helps taking a power-nap of around 5-10 minutes but make sure you don’t get caught. It can help you get through the afternoon somehow. It works for me so why not on you?

The two solutions I mentioned I performed myself. I recommend the first one which is extra sleep cause it worked best for me. Do the power-nap thing only when necessary because it may cause misunderstandings. You know what I mean, it is just that s#!t happens often than expected.

Hope it helps….
